Friction Behavior and Self-Lubricating Mechanism of SLD-MAGIC Cold Worked Die Steel during Different Wear Conditions

چکیده

Wear tends to shorten tool life, reduce component quality. To prevent or postpone the wear of steel forming tools, methods increase resistance, such as increasing material hardness, optimizing carbide distribution and application surface coatings, are often used. However, formation lubricating phases in steels leading anti-attrition is less investigated. The friction behavior three were investigated thoroughly by a tribo test with different normal loads. A Field-emission scanning electron microscope (FE-SEM) along energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDS) used characterize microstructure well influence precipitated on mechanisms. Results showed coefficient decreased load, whereas rate increased load. Compared SKD11 DC53 steels, volume SLD-MAGIC reduced 0.1 0.3 10% 30%, respectively. With mechanism changed order from abrasive wear, adhesive oxidation wear. more contents, rounder carbide, better resistance steel. It can be shown that, under loads, exhibits performance than which mainly due self-lubricating phenomenon was fact that exfoliated sulfide during formed film

Friction and Wear of Self-Lubricating Materials for Hydropower Applications under Different Lubricating Conditions

Self-lubricating bearings in hydropower applications are often lubricated with water under boundary lubricating conditions. Polyhydric alcohols replacing water have shown the potential to reduce both friction and wear. The objective of this work is, therefore, to evaluate the effect of a polyhydric alcohol-based environmentally-acceptable lubricant (EAL) on the friction and wear of self-lubrica...

Self-lubricating, low-friction, wear-resistant Al-based quasicrystalline coatings

After gas atomization, a quasicrystalline powder based on aluminium was used to prepare a thick coating by high-velocity oxygen-fuel flame torch spraying. This layer was deposited on top of a bond-coat layer on a steel plate. A post-spraying annealing treatment turned the two layers to their stable state, a γ-brass crystal and an icosahedral quasicrystal, respectively. The projection parameters...

Wear and Friction Analysis of Sintered Metal Powder Self Lubricating Bush Bearing

Abstract—Powder metallurgy (P/M) is the only economic way to produce porous parts/products. P/M can produce near net shape parts hence reduces wastage of raw material and energy, avoids various machining operations. The most vital use of P/M is in production of metallic filters and self lubricating bush bearings and siding surfaces. The porosity of the part can be controlled by varying compacti...

Friction and wear behavior of human teeth under various wear conditions

Previous reports have described the differences in the friction and wear behavior between different zones of human teeth. The objective of this research was to study the friction and wear behavior of human teeth under different wear conditions to extend the understanding of the tooth wear process, as well as to provide a more rational explanation for wear mechanism of teeth. Two typical wear te...
